Hm, first impressions after about 5 minutes listening:

Detail seems slightly improved. I've been peeved at the low level detail on one of my CDs when played on my system after hearing all sorts of stuff at the LA meet. Well, the problem seems like it MIGHT be half solved. I've been listening for the flick of a clarinet reed. With my system prior to the cords, it was a click type sound. If I hadn't heard this CD on Orpheus's system, I would have assumed this was an artifact on the disc. On his system, it was clearly a clarinet flick. My system now seems to resolve this flick better. It's a more distinct sound. Of course, I'm not sure because I can't compare it to Orpheus's system at the moment.

just got my cord. First thing i noticed was that my cd player was brighter. Then I realized that was because the display reset after I turned it off and on.

Haven't listened yet, will report back later. Have to say though, the actual part that goes into the wall is THICK, and it was actually a struggle to plug it in.

This is without any burn-in on my MAD Ear Purist and Grado RS-1's...

The good...
Deeper harder hitting bass
slightly more detail
Much wider soundstage

The bad...
Rolled off highs?
cloudy vial thing going on

I think both might be due to the ferrite clamps

I have two more that have been burning in on some computers for a few days now. On my fourth cord I'm going to try and remove the ferrite clamps to see if that help with the highs. I'll give a better review when I have more time with all the said PC's.

I thought it was established early on that the ferrites weren't removable?

Anyways, I got my power cables, and they're currently burning in on gpalmer's Emmeline HR-2..

Can't tell what difference they're making since I've never heard an HR-2.. :p

Looks like the ferrites are co-molded over the cord after the fact. You can see the marks on the cable itself near the ferrites.

I am going to cut them off of one of mine "in the name of science".

If I screw up, I'll cut the cable in half to see what the innards look like.

Cables are very well made & flexible. The plugs are identical to some other high priced cords that I had in the past. Makes you wonder how much mark-up these other companies are charging for their cords.

The flexibility really surprised me. I was anticipating something like coat hanger stiff, but instead, it's probably my most flexible cable.

I removed both of the ferrite clamps on one of my cables. I first removed the plastic cover by cutting it with a X-acto knife. I then used a punch and hammer to remove one of the ferrite clamps. For the second ferrite clamp, I just gave it a good wack with the hammer. This provided the best result by shattering the ferrite with no damage to the cord.

The results...
Tighter, deeper bass
better detail
wider soundstage
better separation of each instrument

I'm very pleased with the results of my $13 PC.

The differences are fairly subtle from what I can discern but some initial impressions are a quieter background, smoother, more detailed highs and possibly a bit better separation and tighter, more detailed bass.

Given the cost the Quails offer some nice results, enough so that I'm now seriously looking into some further power conditioning.

I'll do a quick A/B comparison tomorrow morning after I get home from work.
