Lately, I have been looking to get out of using my SkullCandy Ink'd earbuds, which is WORSE than the Apple EarPods. So I have looked at countless videos and decided to go to a forum to help make my decision. Here is a few things I look for in a pair of headphones (in order):

• Sound Quality
• Comfort
• Durability & Design
• Under $200 (Still recommend anything higher)
• Closed back ONLY
• Over-The-Ear is ideal, but I'll do on-ear as well
• Best headphones for hip-hip/rap, without too much bass
• Portable enough to take out the house
• Not important, but Bluetooth and/or noise canceling would be cool

If I could get some recommendations within the next two weeks, that would be great.

Which sonic attributes are most important to you? IOW, how do you want the headphones to sound?
Do you have an amplifier?
What is the source and the source material?

As far as how I want it to sound, I want a more even sound. As far as bass, I want a good quality of bass rather than quantity of it. Other than that, I'm just trying to get a fantastic pair of introductory headphones.

Going on the info we have, take a look at Audio Technica ATH-A900x. Good luck.

Naaaa, it's been around for decades, particularly on Marshall Amps: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BLACK-LEATHER-FABRIC-LEATHERETTE-UPHOLSTERY/dp/B0042EPKOG

Sorry, "vinyl leather" has never been around. It's an oxymoron.

The link cites a "leatherette" product.

Of course there is no such thing as "vinyl leather", but that material has been on Marshall amps for decades and Marshall wants to call it vinyl leather. The link calls it "Black Vinyl Faux leather". It's basically a fake material that's been around forever and you know it.

On topic, the material on the headphones is very durable, lightweight, and comfortable to the touch.
