What PCIE card do you recommend?

RME or Lynx, you can usually get RME cheaper used ($100-200ish). 
Mind you, with whatever card you get, you'll have to get a proprietary breakout cable that goes from the pcie card to AES.
Some of the used ones come with it, some don't.

I've found you can generally get RME cards cheaper because there is more on the used market.
 
Also, if anybody is serious about getting one, do your research. There is a difference between "pci" and "pcie" cards, don't buy the wrong one, and find out what works with your PC. Older = pci, newer = pcie.

This is tempting as I have a couple extra PCIe x16 and x1 slots.

I was looking at the above card, but I am trying to decide on that versus the Singxer SU-1 at this point.

I see no reason to go with the Gustard U12 over the Singxer SU-1. If the cost difference is the problem, I would rather go with the Singxer F-1 than the Gustard U12.

I see no reason to go with the Gustard U12 over the Singxer SU-1. If the cost difference is the problem, I would rather go with the Singxer F-1 than the Gustard U12.

I guess the main issue is that it would be nice to get it off of Amazon in a reasonable amount of time.

With my last posts I mentioned my Amazon balance. Trying to hopefully keep to Amazon to make it less hurtful to my wallet (that and I don't ever use Amazon anymore, so that kind of means if I can find a reason to get rid of the balance, that'd be nice)
 
I've been looking into that PCIe card + breakout cable. I am assuming that would perform just like any of this gear as it bypasses USB altogether.

Well, why wouldn't bypassing USB be a positive then?

Bypassing USB is better if you have a decent PCI/PCIE card yes.

I don't know since I have not tried it myself. Many people think so. Some people think starting out with USB is good as long as you use some type of DDC so the DAC uses a better input. It's a strange world out there. Testing this stuff personally is the best way to go. But that is not always possible.

I noticed an audible improvement when I shifted to SU-1 from USB.
