HIFIMAN Flagship Headphone HE1000 Beta Testing Opportunity Complete - Feel free to still comment

How many of you beta testers also own the Abyss AB-1266? I'm interested in comparisons between the HE1000 and Abyss more than anything else. I've already read most of the ones published so far and know that some people like the HE1000 more, but the more comparisons, the better!

I be conversating with Frank Iaconne yesterday, and he told me that he had about a month's head time with both, and he definitely enjoyed
the HE1000's better for both sound and comfort. He has a good set of ears (his toes are handsome too

Nice! I talked with him a few times about the HE1000 but don't recall any comments about the Abyss. Any more details?

I didn't even check with the shipping #, it'll come when it comes, be nice if I'm surprised when I get home from work, though...

So do you feel the HE1000 is more of a reference (as in accurate) headphone than any of those in any way? Which headphone do you feel is most accurate and realistic? (I would assume another requirement for that is to have a frequency response that is the closest to neutral.)

This is gonna be a tuff one.

Epic photo. That's the same custom color I want on my HD 800 whenever I get around to buying one. Looks like ColorWare doesn't let you send it in now; you have to buy directly from them for $1,600. =/

They have very good transparency, but I don't think they can be described as "more accurate" than other flagships. I am not sure such thing exists at this level or convinced how it should be best quantified. I would suggest to have a good listen!
