Screen issues and the battery got wobbly.
It's all good now. Works fine. They've also updated the fw to ver1.6
It took 30days to get it back. A lot faster than the Chord and AK turnaround time. :smile::smile::smile:

I'd get an amp if your planning to use it with a good headphone. I'm using a PS1000 & DT880pro with it. The power is enough for IEM's and low impedance HP's. It may run the HP's but you won't get the same body and dynamics. The sound quality is much fuller with an amp. That's how it usually works. Even an AK380 does not have enough juice to power a Full size can.
With iem's and ciem's, you'll be fine.

So I am trying to use this as a USB DAC on my work computer to listen to Tidal but its not working. When it went to install the driver it said it failed (I may have cancelled when my boss walked by, not sure) is there anything I need to do. It is one of those little satellite computers that is connected to a server, I am just plugging it into a USB slot and pressing play on Tidal but its coming through the speakers

Also when I select the Shuffle function in the play mode menu it goes right back to repeat all as soon as I leave the play mode menu, any ideas? Also using it as a USB DAC is not working on my tablet either whereas my FiiO worked with both my tablet and my work computer, what gives?

I think this is still being developed on yhe forthcoming UI updates.
I'm not really particular bout this function but you might wanna contact John Yan so this can be raised to Luxury and Precision.

Bringing some updates to this thread, there is a new firmware update 1.0.0.7(beta testing still, might be some bugs still. I have been using for one week and it is fine.)
Changeblog:frowning2:non-official)
1. File Sorting Added.(Sorting Songs by album name/artist name etc.)
2. Shuffle Playback added(fixed).
3. Some bug fixes and sonic improvement.

The main differences between L5 and L5 Pro
 
1. Headphone Amp: 1812A single crown -> 1812A DOUBLE crown (better performance result but same chip)​
2.Op Amp: 1812O double crown -> PRECISION (I have no idea what that is, I think just better amp chip)​
3. Built-in Memory: Change to 24BIT ECC FLASH​
4. Touchscreen: changing manufacturer and screen unit (better touch response I guess)​
5. Changing TP into OGS (Not sure what that is)​
6. Some tuning to the circuit, will have big improvement on sonic performance
 
7. Back plate change to Red Sandalwood
8. The metal body will be more "Uni-body"(no extra piece of metal on top of the volume knob)
9. The software experience will be greatly enhanced to almost* smartphone level, the UI on L5 pro will be different from L5.
 
There have been a long delay on the release date for L5 Pro, this is mainly due to LP waiting to fix all potential bugs and finishing all software features before releasing it; so not to make the same mistake with L5.

I heard that they are working on that with the sales team to try to make that possible, so keep your hopes up; It is likely that exchanges are possible.
Rumors that the L5pro will cost 4999 RMB, which is roughly 150 usd more than L5.
