Since LP build their OS from ground up, such functionality should be programmable. But I doubt they have something like that in mind at the moment. With micro sd you can have 128gb+ of storage already.

Hopefully they put it on the "to do" list..those dsd files sure aint small ha.. I have the dx90 at the min but use 2 128gb cards on that thanks to the meenova reader...wait and see i guess, thanks for the swift reply

Can anybody compare l5 with ak100II or ak120 SQ? How is soundstage ? is it bigger than ak series ?

When comparing ak100ii with L5, it makes ak100ii sound very flat, shallow and unreveailing. Sound stage on L5 is larger too. Not sure about L5 comparing with ak120ii.

The ak120ii has a bigger soundstage than ak100ii. Both having a same sound signature. They have a laid back sound, instruments are placed further at the back, so the separation between instruments seems small. On the L5, instruments are more spread out front to back. The vocal is hence more upfront and more engaging. The AKs sound thin and boring next to L5. Comparison done with an ie800.

This.... Agree with this totally. That was the conclusion I came to after a 1 hour demo of the AK100ii, though without a L5 side by side for comparison.

The AK100ii was going for neutrality but I think they went a little too far, that's why it sounded flat.

Considering the limited number of DAPs that I've heard, I think the Shozy Alien is the closest to the L5 in term of sound signature and quality.

This is my friends take on the L5 and AK120 titan. The L5 outshines the ak120 titan

>After a night of comparison I can confidently say that L5 really pairs well with Hugo. Bass is enhanced but not bloated nor bleeding to other spectrum. I can best describe bass as just enough presence but not jarring however I suspect bassheads might find it lacking in quantity. Mids is silky smooth whether listening to Sam Smith or the husky Tracy Chapman. Trebles is where the L5 outshine the titan the most. Sparkle and airiness is present but not sibilant at all.Triad audio L3 added bass volume and tightness that hugo lacks unfortunately diminishing the zing of mids and very mildly in the trebles.

The L5's SQ is very musical and detailed. It has a slightly laid back mid (about 2chairs away from the center) presentation but far from being warm.
Detail and separation is where the L5 shines you will be amazed on how it presents a stage for you and bring you to a musical delight.
Its detail retrieval is nothing short of phenomenal.
Soundstage is not as wide as DX100 but it is still a wide soundstage and very far from being narrow or intimate. Bass is accurately presented and is never enhanced or colored. It does bass with a natural decay which is a problem of most Dap's which is often enhanced.
If you are after SQ and not dwell on the UI then The L5 is for you.
With the price diff of the 120ii and L5, I'd take the L5 any day but if you have money to spare and wants a more eye candy dap then you can go for the AK120ii or AK240.
In terms of SQ the L5 is in the LEAGUE of the: AK240, lotoo paw gold, AR M2, AK120ii, HM901, Cowon Plenue etc
Cheers:blush:HTH

I think the problem only happens to curtain units(at least not on mine), and there is a  new LP product upcoming later this May. You might want to wait for that.

I hope the new product won't detract them from finishing the firmware of the existing L5, which as it is now, is still very much a work-in-progress.

What..... Just when I've decided on the L5 as my endgame DAP, there's going be to a new product??

Hope it's a souped up L5 with dual DACs and balanced out!

I doubt so but I can only speculate that it is likely be a lower spec model to cater for another market segment just like what Fiio did with X5, X3, and X1 or iBasso with DX50 and DX90.
