I'm considering the new Apple MacBook. You know the one port wonder :D. Will there be a converter to regular USB 2.0. I suppose this is an Apple question. I plan to visit my local store tomorrow and ask the Genuis Bar.

I am considering the same machine and Apple has you covered with several options to meet your need. You can get a USB only converter or ones with three ports: USB, USB C, and video out. When you visit the store be sure to check out the new Force Touch track pad. They are on display on the 13" rMBP. Same pad as the MacBook will use. Very slick.

My question, that they can't answer, is will the MacBook work well with my Sony PHA 2 and PHA 3 that do duty feeding my WA6....

http://www.macrumors.com/2015/03/09/usb-c-digital-av-multiport/ is what the previous poster was referring to.
And http://www.theverge.com/2015/3/16/8226193/new-apple-macbook-usb-type-c-security-risk-badusb is worth a read even though it's a bit off topic.
