Well, I have been thinking about getting a SS amp to go with my Lyr/Bifrost set up.  My three choices were Oppo HA-1, Burson Conductor Virtuoso and Meier Audio Corda Classic/Daccord combo.  Since the Meier and Burson threads are pretty quiet, I thought I'd ask if anyone here is able to compare any combo of these amps?  The Burson with the Burr Brown DAC is the most expensive, but not by much.  I consider these to be in a very similar price category.  Based on my reading in each of the threads for these DAC/amps, my concerns are:  Oppo HA-1 may be too bright; Classic/Daccord may not have enough power for high impedance headphones; Conductor Virtuoso may have a significant noise floor issue for low impedance cans.  Of course, I see no real consensus in any of the individual threads, and no comparisons with any of these amps.

I have a mix of dynamic and planar cans.  Dynamics include T1, HD600 and X2.  My planars are Alpha Dog and HE500.  I like the features on the Meier products, but have never heard them.  They have a unique crossfeed circuit, and I've heard that the Daccord is not overly bright.  My one fear on SS is that they could be annoyingly bright.  My original Schiit Magni/Modi combo was far brighter than the O2/ODAC I had, so I'm assuming implementation is a key issue.  So any comments would help me out with my decision.

Thanks.

Thanks for the response.  I posted here because I got a warning not to post in those threads.  I can't tell if this is a new policy, but I'm trying to follow the rules.

You can look without posting.

Don't know when you get off "probation".  You have been here a coupe months and have 25 posts.  You'll have to check on the current state of the rules, but I suspect that you just need a few more posts.

You should be looking in either the forum section devoted to high end equipment--Summit-Fi--, and/or in the sub-section of the Equipment Forums dedicated to desktop amps.

Why? Just curious.

This is the recommendation forums. I was not aware that only headphones and not amps be discussed in this location of the site. I have seen plenty of threads asking about amp pairings here--on almost a daily basis.

I am inclined to say the Meier stack with your lineup. However, I know nothing of the Burson.

I listened to the HA-1 extensively for about 1 week, using the HE-500, HD600 and HD-650. The latter two sounded great with the amp set to high gain and running single ended. The HE-500 also sounded splendid, but I was running them in balanced mode. If you go HA-1, to unlock the amp's full potential, especially with the T1 and HE-500, you really should go balanced mode. Also, the HA-1 is loaded with extra features that drive up the cost; if you have little use for them, you might do better sonically for cheaper.

Obviously, with the Meier you will not need to reterminate your cables, and I hear the Meier and T1 make a rapturous pairing since Jan Meier used the T1 to tune the amp.

There are question on this soup to nuts thread about what is the best $30 earbuds?  Help me trouble shot "X".  What under $100 desktop speakers do you recommend?

When asking about $1,000 specific pieces of kit, there are much better and specific threads to pose such questions.  Further, the people with the most, best and deepest knowledge about such items tend to hang out on and monitor those threads and not on this one.
