Hi Head-fiers!
it has been a year since I brought my V-Moda M-100s which I am absolutely loving!! I have read in numerous posts that they can be pushed a little harder when using an amp and so I am investigating the cost! So once again I have come back to the forum to get some advice!
I currently listen to music on my iPhone 4s and PC (onboard sound card) straight into my M-100s. The 4S is getting dated and I will most likely upgrade to an android in the near future (Or hopefully a project Ara phone
). My budget is something less than $300 NZD else I would rather invest in a better set of cans (Have been eyeing up the Ultrasone P 860/880) but Id rather not.
I have had a look at a few different options and Fiio keeps popping up in the forefront of things. I don't know if I need the DAC function as I am happy with the 4S dAC but my PC inboard is not fantastic. So my question is:
Do I get the Fiio E12, E17K or the E18?? Which would I benefit from the most? Or do I go slightly sideways and get an audio engine D3?
Is the E18 just the E12 with a DAC?
