So I've owned a couple of headphones over the past couple of years but none of them have been exceptionally good. The headphones I currently own are: Monster DNA, Sennheiser Momentum, Shure se425 (I also have some M-Audio BX5 D2 speakers) and I am finding myself to be 'bored' of all their sounds and might look for a more 'fun' sounding headphone. Does anyone have any recommendations on a new pair of headphones I could get for under £300 ($450)? I listen to mainly EDM and rock music and will have everything powered with a Fiio E12.

Thanks in advance!

Would you say the DT990 is more "fun" sounding whilst still being quite balanced? (I've heard it's got more emphasis on the treble but it should be fine for me as long as its not too much)

Yeah I would say so. It's no way near a basshead can. It's got some emphasized bass and treble the leads to recessed mids. It's hard to say if the treble will annoy you - some people like it and some don't. If you listen to alot of compressed music it may be a problem.

If you're ordering from amazon you could get the DT990 and Philips Fidelio X2 and return the one you didn't like. That's also an option.
