I'm seeing all the headphone reviewers like Innerfidelity starting to like Beats. I'm especially hearing things in the forum about the Beats Solo 2's. I wasn't to much of a fan of beats because of huge labeling but I thought of just buying one just to see if these things really suck or not. How do you like Beats? Do you still hate them or no?

My opinion:
Beats are improving but there are still better options at those price points for most people.

Interesting...
Probably too bass heavy for my tastes but for some it might appeal.  I like a bass-heavy signature for a portable out and about headphone.

I tried the Solo 2s, borrowed from a friend. I wasn't overly impressed, but they are better than previous Beats. They don't suit my taste in headphone sound signatures. But more important I don't think they're worth the price. There are better headphones for less money. I still think people's reason for buying these is because for some strange reason they want the Beats name on their head. I could not care less about the status thing. In fact, just the opposite. At my age they would be embarrassing. On the other hand, I seldom venture outside with headphones.

I tried the solo 2 of my roommate. To be honest, it worsened my impression on beats. I think the sound is just Okay because I can distinguish instruments more or less. But there was one place that I cannot stand, which is their shocking discomfort. I could not put it on for more than 20 min. I can't imagine people wearing them all the time, even when doing exercise...
