I am a newbie to the HD audio world. I had a question on the cable connecting the iPod to the AMP (maybe Vorzuge PURE II or HP-P1). Is there a difference in connecting by LOD or by the mini to mini from iPod to the amp??

I'd use a LOD cable, because it would prevent you from double amping. With that cable your outputting a fixed signal to the amplifier and only the amp can adjust volume.

The AUX cable would let you control volume with the iPod and the amp, so all your going to do is double amp and increase the noise floor, distortion, etc.
