Upgrade to external amp + Xonar ST for HD600? Or keep just Xonar ST?

For some background, my music genres include progressive death metal, melodic death metal, post rock, and some J/K-pop. I'm currently using just a Xonar ST to power my HD600's. It sounds great to me, but I have nothing to compare it to. I should note that my headphones are used for both music and movies.

My main question is: Would I see a noticeable improvement if I upgraded to an external amp like the Schitt Asgard 2 (or possible Vali)? My setup would then be a Xonar ST as a DAC, then feed into the Asgard 2. Desk space is not important to me, but then again, neither is a volume nob since I'm fine with keyboard shortcuts. This would be purchased with tax return money, so the money is not really an issue.

I replaced my Essence STX with an Audio-GD NFB-15.32 external DAC/amp
External DACs (& DAC/amps) seem to provide a cleaner audio signal, then something (Essence ST) that is inside the computer case.

So you might think of selling off the Essence ST and buying the NFB-15 (newer revision of the NFB-15.32)
Dual WM8741 DAC chips :)
USB, optical & coaxial inputs :)
Headphone amplifier with plenty of power :)
It's $270+shipping ($45?)
