does anyone know what happens when you make an aiff lossless file of a dvd-a 5.1 mix TO STEREO? does it mix all channels or just the front two? i'm getting conflicting reports either way... i have done a couple discs and i don't THINK i am missing any tracks but i'd like to know for sure. some steven wilson/porcupine tree deluxe editions have both stereo and 5.1 mixes, but then there will be a few extra tracks in ONLY 5.1, which i rip, with output set to stereo... the dvd-a of the recent self titled 'dream theater' is apparently only 5.1. i made a copy for my sony walkman, it sounds great to me but i'm not a hundred percent sure it's the whole track.
