Hi,

I currently own a Headstage Arrow 4G amp. Amazing amp, but doesn't pair well with the JH13, probably an impedance mismatch. The bass sounds weird and a bit distorted on certain tracks (don't hear it when I attach the JH13 directly to my iPod classic, or when I attach a full-size headphone to the 4G).

What portable amps would match well with the JH13FP? Ones that would have a low output impedance would probably be a good start. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

I've placed an order for the JH13FP recently. Do you think they would sound better with an amp being CIEMs with such high sensitivity and low impedance?

Well, I think most headphones can benefit from some amping. Usually it'll improve the dynamics, instrument separation and soundstage a bit (keep in mind that these won't be night & day differences). They just have to be well matched, as the JH13FP sounds horrible when amped through my Arrow 4G (the bass gets really screwed up), but perfectly fine straight out of my iPod.
