The Official Echobox Explorer Thread

New shipping target date is by July 15, due to a delay from the packaging manufacturer. So many things can come up that cause unforeseen delays. Still, we are close. People who backed Seiun's player are hoping for a September ship date and they haven't even gotten to the point of having beta test units yet. They are a LONG way from shipping product. While these last minute delays can be a little disappointing, Echobox continues to do a great job communicating, and sometimes some things are just beyond your direct control. It sounds like the actual players are pretty much ready and just waiting for the packaging to arrive.

I just realized that in the picture of completed units included with the update from Echobox that my unit is in the picture, recognize it from the engraving. Cool. Looks great too.

Where!?! Are you guys seeing this!!!

It is on the email they sent with the update regarding the packaging delay. After the first paragraph there is an image with a bunch of the players and their engravings. Mine actually is the one on the left sticking out, recognised it cause it is in greek.

BTW is that wood very light coloured or is it just me? :p

It's fresh from the engraving machine and not treated (oiled/waxed) yet.

Once treated, it will look somewhat different (depending on the wood and oil/wax, the effect can be more or less obvious and is, in most cases, best to see with brighter wood, as for example seen on this Blog I searched on Google Images: http://possibleworldscarpentry.blogspot.de/2013/06/oil-and-wax.html).

Maple, tohugh I had wanted Black Walnut. My confusion stemmed from the order of the options in the survey where Maple was second on the list while first to the left from the picture! Oh well it will teach me to read the header.

Yep, mine is maple. Really, any of the choices are very nice. Funny how seeing your actual player in the picture really helps to ease the disappointment of the delay. I know if I was busting my butt to get things done on time and the packaging supplier missed the deadline, I wouldn't be a happy camper.

It may have been our fault, and it's actually for a good reason! We got our final designs in by their original deadline, but there was some miscommunication regarding giving the go ahead to use earlier proofs to print a limited run of boxes for our Indiegogo orders, and we had to make a slight change since that proof because we upgraded the battery from 3,700 mAh to 4,000 ^_^

Extra battery life is always a plus.  I'm surprised that the small change made a difference in packaging specs.  Everything must be neatly packed in there.

These things happen, especially with a brand new product and the necessity to focus on the technical aspects, I can see where something like this slip through the cracks.  My oldest brother, who is nearly 70, I think is more disappointed in the delay than I am, he's really anxious to check it out and will probably end up buying one.  That'll be cool since I can jam him about paying so much more than I did, lol.

I think brothers just borrow then subconsciously forget to return. :)
