I think the Audio Technica ATH-W3000 ANV paired with an EAR HP4 brings out more detail from the SHM technology but my first vote goes to the LCD-3 with Bakoon AMP-11R combination. The Fab Four sound so smooth and creamy with the Audeze.
Doesn't anybody on this forum use the actual discs anymore or are we all down-streaming the music. It's an inferior methodology but each to his or her own! This is not the site for legitimate audiophiles.
I still use physical CDs with an EMM player. It's still the best sound to me. I have lots of Beatles discs, with various Japanese pressings. I really can't live w/o my Beatles fix frequently. (Also use LCD3 mainly).
In addition to the SHM-CD's, I like my LCD XCs the best for all Beatles material. I am also using the on the 44.1 24 bit box set they released a few years ago. High's are fully extended, and mids are there, but not harsh as they can be with certain headphones in the upper mids.
