Hifiman HE1000 Planar Dynamic Headphone

The 3D  stage  of this is quite different than the hE6. The HE1000 has front to back depth within the stage. The width on sides also feels like it is out of my head while listening. The biggest difference is transparency. The HE1000 is really stat like but better because of deep bass extension. The headphone disappears and feels like its out of me head. I am not distracted with long session and comfort is in another league

Stop making me wanting to have one! :D.

Frank,
What would you say are the key advantages it has over the HE-560?
Thanks :)

Two different headphone. The HE1000 is muh wider. Has better bass and is is more transparent. Really different classes

That's great to hear

Would you say the HE-1000 has a smoother treble, or rather, the HE-560 has a peak in the 5KHz region with the stock pads... Does the 1K has that too?

Heard from the Australian distributor that they speculate that the price will be $5,000 AUS - that includes 10% taxes and shipping so approx $3,500 US

Well, if that's true... Ouch I guess

A thousand less and perhaps we can talk

With the way my currency is weakening, 3.5K $ is a very real difference vs 2.5

I'll wait for the official price announcement

That's kinda what I was expecting. Hoping for something less, but that doesn't surprise me.

In New Zealand with a weaker currency and 15% GST that will be around 6K NZD.

I will wait to hear about how it compares with a well driven, modded HE6 before making a decision. Speil about how great the HE1000 is doesn't mean much to me without some comparison to the top headphone/s I already have.

US distributors also have shipping and taxes to cover.  Aussie prices always seem to be just ever so slightly higher than what it costs to import and pay duties buying from overseas

TBH no idea what costs are involved running hifi distributor in AUS so can't really make any comments.

But yeah I figure 3.5k in the US sounds feasible given the price relationship of other products here in Aus.

Still ouch at 5k AUD

As long as they can promise not to make sudden revisions for making better sound, I'm all in from the very beginning, even if  3.5k is what it costs (Auralic Vega price)

I want comparison to Stax SR-009, please...

You should try buying in the UK. They often just change the currency figure from $ to £. Ridiculous!
