Preamp for HD800+HDVD800 combo?

Hi everyone,
 
I've been through the excellent threads throughout the forum on HD800 headphones. I'm using them in combo with the HDVD800 amp.There are tons of recommendations for the right amp for the HD800s as I understand they're apparently quite picky about amp, but what about preamps? Does anyone know any preamps recommended for this setup?

I can't see why you would want a pre-amp in the signal chain?

It's for use with a turntable. Not sure if it would make a difference but given the discussions around here around the best amps/cables/DACs for those headphones thought there might be some pre-amp recommendations.

Ohh, you need a phono-stage, correct?
 
I'm not really into that kind of stuff, but personally I'd consider the schiit mani despite the low price.
