Hello, Head-Fi. I'm in desperate need for a good pair of headphones to replace the B+W P7.

After spending quite a bit of time reading/watching first-impressions, reviews and comparisons, I made my first "nice" headphones purchase and got the Bower and Wilkins P7. I really love the sound that comes out of these; they suit my ears very well. The design, the build quality and the sound are all done very well and that just makes it even more disappointing how uncomfortable they are on my head.

I've had them for less than 24 hours and I'm currently using them at work. After about 2 hours or so, I felt a soreness and it became pretty painful shortly after that.

The other headphones I've been looking at are the B&O H6 and the Focal Spirit Classic. (About $400 USD is my limit). I've had the Sennheiser Momentum over ears and even though they're quite nice, I prefer what I hear out of the B+W P7.

If anyone has had a chance to listen to the H6, Spirit Classic and the P7, which would sound the closest to the P7 how do the comfort compare?

If you can spare $600, then you can have the Mr. Speakers Alpha Dog, which is by far the most comfortable headphone I have ever used.

I've listened to the H6 briefly. It's lighter than the P7 so it might be comfortable, but I couldn't say as comfort is different from everyone and I find the P7 to be fine. The H6 does have circular ear pads which could make a difference as well. The sound of the H6 is less dense and aggressive than the P7--they have much less bass, and sound more clear and polite.
