Hi guys. I'm Miguel, from Spain. My first post here (sorry for my poor english)... Recently, i've bought an IPod Touch 5g 32gb (i'm in love!) and i'm looking for a good EQ app that have some kind of volume booster (amplification), be cause sometimes i have the feeling i need some extra punch (especially in noise environments). Love EQ 10, but doesn't have these option.
Thanks for this great forum!

The Fiio E5 is heavy and not portable? It's tiny!

An equalizer cannot make the sound louder than what the amp in your itouch can provide. Max volume is max volume.

Interesting... I guess in the pic you've posted it's a Ipod Touch 4G (my Ipod has a lightning connector) paired with a Fiio E5 or E6 with a rubber band... Two things:

- The Fiio is connected through a cable adaptor to the Ipod. My Fiio is connected with a different cable:

Is there any difference between both?

- Where can i buy these rubber band?

 Thanks again for your help

I bought relisten and previously used neutron and before that can opener. Relisten is fantastic.worth $50? Maybe. The detail and separation are insane. I use it with an e12a and it is heaven.
Happy there is finally someone who share my more than positive experience:blush: can you please post your comment on the iPod Touch thread as well? Thx

NeutronMusicPlayer has a selectable 4-Band to 10-Band Parametric EQ with practically infinite  settings (ie you input the values) for center frequency, effect width, and of course gain. You can select practically any frequency and have practically any Q-Factor setting to have a narrow or wide effect.

I use the one for Android, but many of the iOS reviews seem to think that it's a "graphic" EQ or that the EQ function is only on the easily accessible page on the app. You have to click the gear icon (as in like the gear on a machine) to go into settings, and you can tweak the EQ there.

Just a warning though - as a music player it isn't the most user-friendly. All the DSP functions affect how it reacts to inputs vs the usual players - where any equivalent to a "Back" button would usually take you one layer up (ie from the album to the list of albums if you're browsing by Artist for example), this one brings up the other consoles. There's a dedicated content browser "Back" button on the app's interface on the Android version. Apple devices dont have that button but you might end up swiping and not get the content library.

Apart from that just do a Google search for the response of your IEMs or headphone and if you find one it's easy enough to see what the problematic frequencies are. Most problematic are narrow spikes, especially if you have two separate spikes near each other, and that's where Neutron's Q-Factor settings come in.

Not too sure what you are meaning here. The Neutron app acts just like any other iOS music app, in fact, it very closely behaves like the (old) built-in music app in terms of navigation. Perhaps you are just used to the Android UI.

I haven't tried the iOS version, although I have an iPad2 and an SGS3, the latter is what I have Neutron on. On players with less DSP features the navigation of the content is more straightforward; with Neutron if you're on the Now Playing screen and you hit the "back" button on the Android it exits Neutron instead of going up one layer on the file library (ie back to the album track listing). You have to hit the logo on the upper right to go back to the track listing first, and then there is a back and forward button on the screen itself to navigate the content, as opposed to the back button next to the home button.

Everyone who's used my phone with that player, including Android users, get lost using it initially, so I assume that if it works the same way on iOS then all the more would iOS users would have a tendency to get confused by it.
