Hi. I'm a new member here and I actually heard of this site before but was never into until now because,
1. I need new earbuds
And 2. I want to learn more about headphones in general (i.e. How to read a spec graph, mid range, bass, hi if etc.)

Now, about the earbuds, this is usually my problem with them
1. They don't last long
2. Most are soft
The only two that have lasted me were the stock Samsung ones that came with my Galaxy (about 18 months before the jack got bent) and my Beats Tour (3 years, and they were a gift). What I'm looking for are ones with noise cancellation, mainly cause I'll be using these in school. I also want good bass, most of my songs are edm and trap with some artists being Zeds Dead, Pendulum, Excision, Datsik, Tropkillaz, and so on. I would prefer the subwoofer bass feel if it can be done. And lastly the jack, the vertical Jacks just don't like me at all, maybe it's just me, but an L shaped jack is preferred. Of not, it's OK, I'll just learn to take care of them. I looked up a pair called MUIX IX3000 and they seem pretty good. But I just want to double check to see if anything better comes up

ljokerl's thread is a great place to start. A sortable list of his reviews are available here.

The IX3000 might deliver all the treble you need, but may not be sufficiently heavy in the bass region to provide a woofer like feel.

Any suggestion for an earphone is heavily dependent on your budget and preferred sound signature. Let us know your budget. This should help us narrow it down for you.

Regardless of price, the Yamaha EPH-100 is very good for EDM. It is a very good performer and a proper upgrade to it will be significantly more expensive.

Take a look at the links above, let us know your budget and what you did not like about your previous earphones.

Thanks for the suggestion, really like them though they are a little expencive for my budget. i wouldnt want to go over $150 since in that case i may as well buy headphones. Have you heard about Sennheiser In ear momentum? A friend of mine recommended them to me

So, your budget is <150$? The EPH-100 are always under 150$, and was on sale at 90$ a few weeks ago(amazon).

mark2410 has written a nice review on the momentums(I have not heard these and do not know how they compare to the yamaha).
