cool, reminds me beyerdynamic a200p dac and astell and kern ak10 dac, similarities. doe these sound the same? thanks

BTW, just realized how good this IEM is with Heavy Metal. With bass mod, of course. It's simply the best I've heard till date for this genre. ManoWar and Accept. The purity and the power of the electric guitars, the bass, the instrument separation. It's incredible.

Yup, you got that right. I immediately test IEMs with metal because it'll reveal the quality of the drivers instantly. Speed, decay, and separation of instruments are key factors.

And I think the damn IEM is sounding better past the 200hrs... I must have some 300hrs or so now. What's been impressing me the most lately is the quality of the bass. So clean and refined.

Cymbals sound very refined indeed. Treble is this IEM strongest point. They also shine on jazz, obviously. Been listening to all my jazz collection over and over again. But Metal was quite a shock. Have you tried the bass mod already? Covering 2-3 ports with adhesive tape? It gives you some extra bass. At this moment and after more testing, I recommend covering just 2. The result is basically more realistic drums. Mids come up a bit more forward too. Thats why they sound more balanced. So, more bass and no longer recessed mids. One can really love this mod. I know I do.

Based on the measurements on the "official" fiio website, the ex1 and dunu titan 1 are identical in sound quality.

that is "the" exact graph from innerfidelity.com of the dunu titan. Clearly they are just rebranded with slight changes to the cable/logo. I'm not complaining.
 
Does anyone know where to buy the ex1? The previous link doesn't load anything for me.

I'll have one to directly compare with the Titan in a couple of weeks. Ful review will be posted on Headfonia, but I'll post impressions here as well.

Man, I played my first game (Battlefield 4) with the Titans (with "bass mod") and the bass and sub-bass is thunderous. Like a subwoofer. What an experience! Basshead levels in this game. You gotta try to cover 2 ports (holes) with adhesive tape in your Titans and thank me later. Holly ****! lol
