Warranty help with Monster (Turbine Pro Coppers)

I bought some MTPC online from a private seller nearly a year ago. They didnt send me a copy of their purchase receipt and now im encountering physical breakdowns of the earphones themselves. Im screwed because although monster provide a lifetime warranty, they will not do this without proof of purchase. Is it wrong for me to ask if anyone would let me use a scanned copy of their receipt??
