Hey everyone, so, here is deal. I need a closed, well isolating headphone for around the $300 dollar range. I listen almost exclusively to Metal and sometimes more lighter forms of rock. I like headphones that feel forward and aggressive, still having a good bass response as well. (Grado, anyone?) Anyway, I can't skimp out on bass, since Metal needs bass to sound good, and being a bassist I need to hear the bass, but I don't want muddy beats like bass, and well I am not a basshead. I do not like warm sounding headphones, the tend to not sound good with metal. Forgiving headphones are a bonus, since 90% of recorded metal sounds like crap. I was thinking of the MrSpeakers Mad Dog, reviews indicate it has a good bass response while still having a relatively neutral sound sig. (I can live with having a neutral sound.) As well, reviews say it isolates well. As an added bonus, it is also supposed to be comfy, a good plus. I'd rather not get an IEM, since I have a tendency to lose such things, but I'm still open to IEM recommendations. Soundstage is not a huge thing I concern myself over. Anyone care to help?

Thanks in Advance

Oh! If you are open to IEMs, I LOVE the Yamaha EPH-100SL for metal. Great deals on Amazon at the moment. They are usually around $150. The price has been around $90 for the past couple of weeks. Best metal IEM, IMO.

I am a bassist too, and I love many forms of metal. Death, tech death and prog are my main favs... Just so you know where I'm coming from.

I got that too. Haven't tried it with metal yet, but my initial impressions were very positive!
