SONY NW-ZX2

Hey all, I just purchased my first WAV files (88/24) from HD Tracks.  This is my first time installing WAV files onto the ZX2, normally I use and purchase FLAC, but wanted to give WAV a try.  Anyway I tried to clean/add tags using mp3tag, but couldn't.  I'm guessing mp3tag does not support WAV or am I missing something?  Anyway I decided to load onto ZX2 using stock tags that came from HD Tracks, but it is not recognized.  It plays and displays the song title, but as far as artist and album name it is displayed as 'Unknown' and album art does not show up.  Is there a way to tag WAV files (preferably free)?

Thanks.

I have a ZX1 and iPods and could never get album art on WAV files.  Not saying it's not possible, just that other formats are so much easier to deal with.

WAV files don't accept album art, and on a practical level, you would have to have either a very poor FLAC decoder or the ears of a grand master bat to hear any difference between the two formats, needing to have much higher quality gear than the ZX2.

go back to FLAC and the album art will display. I had the same with WAV, just gave me a headache solved simply by converting my WAV to FLAC

Thanks for the replies.  I tried tagging in Media Monkey and someone on another forum advised using JRiver Media Center, so I downloaded a trial version and tried that; still no luck.  So I just converted to FLAC and everything is perfect.  Just wanted to try WAV, but I will be sticking to FLAC from here on out.

This is a portable DAP, not intended for serious listening with low impedance cans, this DAP is for people on the go with quality IEM'S. I have no problem running cans with the ZX2, but I pair it with my ibasso D6,which has no problem pushing cans.

ultrasone edition impedance only 30 ohms. that is not too high for portable unit.

What he said - tried it today with LCD-XC. Oh boy. Vorzuge Pure II fixed it (significant step up from running straight out of the Walkman.
Issue was not loudness but dynamics (Simple Minds, the synths sounding fuzzy and like a cheap toy).
Performance with IEMs on same tracks is good (eg IE800, JH13 Pro).
