So I've been using the NuForce Icon DAC for almost half a year and during that time my rigs has changed quite a bit. Now I mainly use SE535s, Alclair Reference CIEMs, and DT880 600ohm. The Icon DAC pairs nicely with DT880s, and I'm quite contend with this setup. But when I want to use IEMs with it, the hissing will be so distracting. On top of that, I can never reach an ideal volume level with the IEMs. It either starts to show unbalanced L/R volume, or it becomes ear-bleedingly loud.

Mainly I listen to jazz (Ella Fitzgerald, Miles Davis, Bill Evans, James Taylor), classicals/opera (Chopin nocturnes, Der Ring,), Japanese female vocals (too many to list), vocaloid (I'm sure someone will get it), and rock (Led Zeppelin, Steve Miller Band, B'z).

I generally do not like the sound signature of Fiio, as I feel their products tend to lack a bit of delicacy.

I've done a bit of research and here is a list of combos that I'm pretty interested in, but still feel free to make any kind of suggestions. Thank you!
