I have been looking for a pair of over ear headphones for around $100, I will be using them mainly for listening to music from my phone, and for playing video games on a PS4. Because I would like to use these for gaming I was thinking of either getting something like the modmic or getting something with a detachable boom mic. Some headphones I have been looking at are the Sony MDR-7605, Audio Technica ATH-M50, VMODA Crossfade LP, and Kingston Hyperx Cloud. My issue with the Audio Technicas, and Sonys is that I would have to pay extra for a modmic (which is about $50), and the VMODAs I would also have to get their attachable boom mic (around $30), while the Hyperx come with a boom mic included. The M50s are currently $120 on amazon, Sonys are $85, VMODA are $115, and Hyperx are $80. I am interested in hearing anyones recommendations on these headphones or any alternatives as well. I would prefer closed back headphones, and I listen to most genres of music excluding electronic. Thanks for any input.
