I wonder how this'll affect 1964ADEL.
https://www.unitedstatescourts.org/federal/flmd/305579/1-0.html

Hopefully not much.

I suspect the underlying agenda may be primarily about extracting royalties from competitors (not just 1964).

We'll see, but I hope everyone involved realises that a constructive approach is better for all parties than a destructive one.

I hope it's all resolved quickly so everyone can move forwards.

Although I'm too skint, right now, I'm really keen to order an A12 as soon as I can afford one. I'm not new to CIEMs, and I've seen all the 'latest and greatest' CIEMs come and go (even owned a couple of them), but A12 might turn out to be a keeper for me, and I say that for more than one reason, and not limited to the ADEL feature.

I have no expertise in patents but it seems to me the patent is very generically broad and appears to cover quite a few brands who make or plan to make 8 driver IEMs.  It will be interesting to see what happens.

My V12 order was buffed today--step 9.  There's nothing more they can do but insert the module when it arrives and ship it out.  If they do that next week I won't be home.  Oh well, maybe there will be a present waiting when I return on April 1.  Hope it's not an April Fools joke.

Not an expert on patents either, but that patent was just granted in November 2014 as well. Sometimes, some patents are so generic and it feels the same on this case. Seems like several other IEM manufacturers may be affected.

Actually, I was wrong!  I just checked on Kickstarter and the last comment from 1964Ears said:

Hello Everyone,

We want to give you a quick update on production of A12, A10 models. Our sound tubing supplier sent us the wrong size of tube multiple times which set back production a few days. We are currently on track and moving forward.

The modules from our manufacturer are being produced as we speak and we expect the delivery of the first batch of modules on 3/18/15.

We have a dedicated ADEL team assembling A10 & A12 models,  we are on track to start shipping orders on 3/20/15.

If any delays should occur we will keep you posted.

Here are some images of the assembly of A12, A10 IEMs.

So they should already be shipping.  Mine have been buffed but as of now have not shipped.

Dear backers,

We would like to give you an update on the A10 and A12. Due to a manufacturing challenge's, the Adjustable ADEL Module is not ready for shipment. We are still waiting on some parts from the manufacturer.

However The Self-Tuning ADEL modules are being produced right now and we have received the first batch. We don’t want to push back the shipment date any longer. We have decided that it would be best to ship the A10 and A12 orders with the Self-Tuning modules right now so you guys can start to experience the benefits of ADEL technology. But no worries, we will later ship the Adjustable Module along with the case and 3-button microphone cable.

We are starting to ship orders this Monday. We anticipate that all of the orders will be shipped out during the next few weeks.

On another note, here is a video we made on the progress of the new case:https://youtu.be/n20c8eyrXDs

Thank you for your support and being patient! We are very excited to hear your feedback!

Here's the message for U series backers
Dear Backers,
We would like to update you on the progress of U-series products. We are currently in the process of finishing the design sound signatures on the U4, U5, U6, U8.

We are in the midst of deciding which method of production would yield best results for the U-Series shell housing. We are looking at the two options, 3D printing and injection molding. There are advantages and disadvantages to both, we are currently weighing our options.

In addition to the progress update we are very excited present the new case design. Please take a look at the video to learn more: https://youtu.be/n20c8eyrXDs

Thank you for your support and being patient. Stay tuned for more updates.
