I good choice as well, but costs $100, probably outside of his budget.  Btw, MIE is not your real Senns "Momentum" with audiophile quality.  It has fun sound, but not audiophile-accurate in comparison to Momentum over-ear.

Thanks! That's enough to keep me away.

I've got enough "fun sounding" IEMs, and the S-018, which is the finest sounding budget IEM ive ever possessed. So I'm after deep quality now.

Got a pair of RE-300i to play with for a little while.  Slight imbalance between drivers < 4 dB (100 Hz - 8 kHz), however, I do have some measurements in, look very similar to the RE-400 and RE-600.  Overall sound has a warm, lush midrange with a slight thickness overall.  Treble is soft, detailed, and offers excellent separation, though lacks a bit in presence at times.  The bass focus gives beautiful reverbs that offers a larger sense of space.  Really impressed with HiFiMan's 50 dollar offering.

That looks quite good. Some people have reported bloated bass, but the graph looks decent. What do you feel about the quantity? Is there any bleed?
Will you be getting a RE300h in?

Thanks for the data. Added to OP.

I don't have too much issue with the quantity.  It is a little more bassy, with a slight fun factor.  It's the slower decay that makes it seem like it's got a lot more quantity.  Not too much bleed, if any.  I will not be getting a pair of 300h.

Seriously? This is why graphs are such a joke. That what you described from the graph, is not how I heard or the majority of those who owned the 300i hear them. They have bloated bass that bleeds. The mids are veiled, and the highs are most definitely NOT detailed. Don't mislead people here. That does a huge disservice, and compromises headfi'ers hard earned cash.

The bass and veil compromise clarity, detail, and the highs are very smoothed over

Two notes, I compiled my impressions before I measured them (I just posted them at the same time; I listened to them for about 3 hours to get my impressions before I measured them the morning after).  I don't feel that the bass bleeds.

I can see someone saying they are bloated depending on what they listen to (and how much tolerance, deviation, they can withstand away from neutral bass).  However, I didn't hear them that way unfortunately.  There is a reverb to them, there is a body to them, a thickness if you will.  They are, but definition bass-focused (partly due to slow decay, partly for other reasons).  The highs are detailed, but not present at times.  I'm not misleading people.  Just because our opinions about the IEM differ doesn't mean that someone is misleading anyone.

Measurements were posted for anyone who would want them.  I made a statement that they have bass that decays slowly which increases quantity (makes them bass heavy). For those that do know what the graphs represent, this means that the headphones will be more bass heavy than they measure.

Last note, I'm running this out of an iPhone 6 (like I do all my headphones, with the exception of the HE-560).  Apple products have historically been known to be brighter sources after they switched to the Cirrus DACs.

anyone can compare to the MA750i? im assuming the RHA will be bassier, but would like a confirmation

Not even close. The RHA are a much finer tuned machine. Everything about the dynamics of the RHA is better than the 300h/I/a. Not going to go into specifics, since that would be redundant to say lusher this or better extension that. You get the idea. Fit and comfort go to the 300, but they generally are a better comfort than most, but from a ss/dynamic range standpoint, it's like comparing the Xiaomi Pistons with the FX850. Truth. And this from the short experience of having a friend loan me theirs for about a week.

I got a pair of RE-300h earphones in the mail the other day and...I noticed something strange when I listened to them for the first time. Something I'd never heard in a HiFiMan earphone before.

BASS.

Holy crap these things have one heck of a low end. I mean, it's not huge or even "big" by my standards but the sub bass presence and detail is just...great. I'm listening to Run the Jewels 2 and, geez. Loving the bass so far.

The rest of the sound is great so far too but I just had to chime in about that since I'm a basshead.

Please say that they are better sounding than your GR07BE.

The 300h DON'T sound better than the GR07BE. NOT...EVEN...CLOSE. The 300h are a pretty dandy IEM overall, if they don't fall apart in you. I agree with theGame, the bass is surprisingly good. The highs though are too smooth and tamed for me. They sit in the drawer. Still...decent value. Crappy build quality.

I hope Hifiman fix it in the next batch like they did on RE0.
