Hello everybody, 
It's been a little time since i decided to improve the way i listen to music. In order to do so, i've decided to start finding flack tracks, to install rockbox on one of my ipods and to change my headphones. I'm actually using akg in ear headphones (can't remember their name, not great tho) and was using akg 518 dj before having problems with the jack for the 4th time (this time i'll have to replace it myself, i'll probably create a thread soon cause i failed twice while trying today). 
Anyway, the reason why i created this thread is that i wanted to know what kind of headphones and portable amps you could reccomgand considering i mostly listen to old school and underground hip hop which still require some bass. I came across a few headphones that where in my budget (superlux hd 668B, grado SR80i or the koss prodj 100) but i don't know if they're adapted to hip hop or if their sound could be improved with a portable amp. 
I think that finding most of the tracks i listen to in high quality will be quite a challenge but I'll probably find a way.
