this and the shure se846, could you tell me what would you pick and why?

That's tough one, I like them both - they are both adjustable - Velvet is warmer and a bit more musical - Shure is more efficient, some of my favorite bass, but is picky about source (IMO) - I'd take both (oops - I did!)

did u have a look at the aurisonics iem thread there are claims that the aurisonics are miles better than the shure 846 whats your take in it

i told them i know a head-fier which is you that tried so many iems and i doubt you might easily sell your shure

I used the Shure most recently - within the last few days - last week for Velvet. They both will go with me to Vegas for a week on Thursday.

I like Aurisonics - but they aren't really accurate. Sometimes they are downright odd. They are fun and have great big gobs of bass - but there are other IEMs that have equal amounts that have better texture and timbre (IMHO)

Which one is more low profile? Like being able to lie down on the side with it, and having it sit in the concha easier.
And which protrudes out of the ear more?

Any recommendations on rescuing a Velvet from Customs? I think mine got stuck in the Customs and I'm using PS4's stock mono earbud with my On-Board sound card right now and I'm definitely going mad.

They are pretty equal in size, but the Shure is more rounded so I guess they would be more comfortable to sleep with - but neither of them protrude out of the ear (for me)

My Velvet finally arrived and I've took some pictures of it. It is a good looking IEM but it was hard to capture in a photograph. That was really weird.
I've graded Velvet as the "best thing I've ever listened".

Only thing I'm not satisfied is it's 2 pin connector. I didn't want to force it, so I couldn't take the cable out. I'm considering Linum Bax as the upgrade cable, so I will have to take it off sometime. A recommendation would be nice about "how to remove 2 pin connector from Velvet".

Also I thought it was a good opportunity to test my new Macro Tube, so I've took some Macro pictures of Velvet.

Nice pictures buddy. The 2-pins are a bit stuck the first time, there's really no other solution than pulling hard. Just don't pull at the memory wire, pull directly where it connects. Then it will go up a little bit. After that, you can stick your nail or a credit card underneath to wiggle it more loose, and it will come out after.

Thank you for the tip. I've finally managed to remove it and it finally become loose as a normal IEM.

Yeah only the first time is a pain, it's with all ES iems

Nice avatar, the pics have a groovy look to them. Like they're a computer design or something, but in a cool way!

It was because of the Luminance. Velvet looks weird in photos, increasing Luminance seemed the only way to prevent it, but it gave a weirder look.
