Does the DSEE HX really help with the sound or is it just a gimick. If in fact it does than in theory it should sound better than the x5 playing mp3 format is that right. I do not own 24 bit audio and not all songs are available in 24 bit format.
My e474 trounces the X3 on normal Mp3, so i'd imagine the A10 being one or two sonic steps beyond would do the same with the X5.Sony's legacy will be their mastery of Mp3.
Not believable..........maybe u are using eq,that can explain that as sony's sound settings are very good.
Other than that e-474 is good, not as good as u are saying
Can we get digital out using the sonys otg cable?

Yes, it is also shown here:

It wasn't me that said it,it was an X3 owner who had a 30 min session. I was diplomatic, but I agreed, fortunately he also had a 24/(192?) album for me to praise. Were talking 128/192 kbps here.
I never download MP3 below 320. I will be very shocked if x3 is beaten by a10 on 320 MP3 without any eq.
new toy syndrome............
Picked up mine the other day from a SONY kiosk in Sydney.
SONY Walkman NWZ-A15 16GB - $249au (with free 8GB SD card.)
24bit 192kHz Flac + SD card support, using line out dock to my
SONY PHA-1 Dac/Amp (Only amping in this config.)
Bonus points if you can guess the headphones based off the plug.
Any questions, i'll try them out.
Internally this thing sounds quite clear, so really you might not need to amp unless the phones really require it.
Sound is great direct from the unit.
For piece of mind I trimmed a cheap phone screen protector and slapped it on, better safe than sorry.
