I doubt it will, but i'd love for it to have an HD Radio chip in it.

if it's only an old AM/FM radio with ok battery, you can find comfort thinking how useful it will be after zombie apocalypse.
I don't think will have a HD radio tuner can anyone confirm?

I would normally say Pricejapan, but they don't have it listed yet. Maybe soon...

Have you tried Tenso at all? Everyone says it's the best for amazon.jp which will carry the Sony A17

No I haven't, but I'm sure they would be fine to use. I just tend to suggest Pricejapan, just because they don't limit themselves to only a couple retailers. I say compare prices closer to the release date and decide...

I used to live in Japan and so use Tenso fairly often to get books and CDs. Their costs are not too bad and they offer a lot of coupon codes and offers during the year.

I live in turkey, and I used tenso for a couple times (for buying sony f886 walkman and akg q701), and tenso staff performed quite good and serious during those experiences.
for walkman they only took some 7 or 8 dollars fee (and like $14 for ems shipping), and for akg q701 (which I bought from amazon.jp), they fulfilled my wish of changing the amazon box with a no-name one to put q701 in.
(btw I did this in order the headphones to come without being held in the turkish customs - due to amazon label -, and it worked! )
they also let you to determine the invoice value (like pricejapan), but since tenso is more of a forwarding service different than pricejapan (which "buys" and forwards stuff), you can get lower cost by using tenso.
conclusion : i recommend tenso.

My fingers are itching to get this beauty! Just dreaming of the day it will be in my hands!
BTW, does anyone know by the specifications quoted above, if the new Z5 headphone will play with ease without amping?

that's the wild guess part of any sony dap.
they always give some "x+x mw" specs that mean nothing (just like most of the technical specs they gives). this doesn't help making any kind of calculation, what is the load used? is it at 1% distortion? we no nothing. it's a meaningless value that may or may not tell if one sony DAP has more power than another sony DAP(I hope they at least keep the same way to come up with the magic spec on all models). but sadly that's about it.
