Hello all,

I'm new to this forum. I'm addicted to music so much. I'm going to buy headphones for me. I like to listen trance, house, dubstep, electronic, rap, hip hop and rock music. Artists like Armin, Chicane, Markus, Skrillex, Deadmau5, flux pavilion, Rusko, ferry corsten, Arctic moon, the thrillseekers, tiesto, BT, nickelback and ACDC too lol. I have read many threads here and on other sites. I'm so confused.
I will be buying around the ear headphones which cover full ear. Budget is up to 200$ to 230$. I will be using them with my laptop and phone. Maybe ipod in future. I have filtered some results after so many reviews reading from other threads and sites.

Sennheiser
Bose
AKG
Audio Technica
Denon
Ultrasone (Many say that this are perfect for EDM)

Please suggest model number too.
Thank you!

I would scratch Bose, AKG, and sennheiser all off the list.

Ultrasone: I've never owned a pair, so I can't recommend or reject any of those.

Audio Technica: The ATH-M50, ATH-ESW9(a) are both in your budget and will satisfy your bass needs, I would suggest getting the ESW9 though.

Denon: D600

Over those listed, I would go with the ESW9. It's an amazing on-ear headphone.

Do you want bass heavy headphones? What kind (make/model) headphones have you had before and what did you like or not like about them?

I want headphones with balanced bass. Specially for Trance, dubstep house, electro music. Some bass is good. I never owned a pair of headphones before. I am a total noob. And I also listen to some rap, hip hop, rock. I have filtered above results after so much result. Need some suggestions.
Thanks

I don't really know which you should go for, but if you get the M50 order some HM5 pads for them. They're more around-ear than the stock pads, and they sound better with them.

Thanks for the suggestion. Bit many says that M50 I'd little low on bass?

That's a subjective opinion. M50s have more bass than a neutral headphone. So it does over-emphasize the bass from how the music was recorded. But there are other headphones that have more bass. If you definitely want tons of bass, then HFI-580 are a better choice (they are over ear). More bass impact than M50. M-Audio Q40 are another (although I cannot speak from personal experience; I have not heard them).

Here's a great deal on the M-Audio HDH50, the Q40's replacement. The person selling is pretty well respected around here too, so you can buy with ease of mind.
