Well, $250 upgrade is a bit too much for me now (+ shipping from Europe to US and possible customs when shipped back).
Maybe if there are some sweet deals for Black Friday or something ;)

Pic of my blackwood set:

I think the gloss doesn't allow you to see the wood figure in a photo. I'm sure a matte finish would reveal the grain better in a photo but in person there is nothing as luxurious as glossy exotic wood.

When I get them I will take a less professional picture to try my best to show how they look in person.

The wooden cups are made by Vibro no ?

Same designer. Just a different a different name. Prob to keep things simple

Zach has my X Vibro (formerly belonged to grizzlybeast), for upgrade to Blackwood.  I picked my cups from pictures last night.  I'll be first upgrade.  I already had Zach install 22awg copper OCC wire that I sent him a few weeks back.  I have a bunch of new DHC and Norne cables to use on them to test sound qualities!  I am running off of speaker taps using my Denon 4800 vintage receiver (125wpc in 8 ohms), fed by Windows 8.1, running jRiver MC20, with Tidal streaming service using WDM driver to play through MC20.  Sound with the new MC20 streaming Tidal has huge soundstage, more refined, better details, more bass....just a fantastic upgrade from MC18 to MC 20, expecially through a powerful vintage receiver like the Denon 4800, which was the first THX certified Denon device, and the best amplifier circuitry they have ever made!

Bring on the Blackwoods, I'm ready!

I'm guessing the $499 and $699 price is for the Black Friday sale. Correct me if I'm wrong

Saw this on the site

"PRICE Change!?

You'll notice the price of the ZMF's now seems to be a little lower, with each model dropping $50, but really this is because each model is listed with a lower base price, which doesn't include a cable. If you add a cable it will add to the price. More and more people want to use aftermarket cables with the ZMF's instead of our Canare or OCC Braided cable, so now you can buy the ZMF's without a cable, and use any other Audeze wired cable instead."
