I'm new here, so I apologize if I'm posting this in the wrong place.

Budget: $200 (Canadian) Source: HTC One mobile phone/Nexus 7 (android tablet)
Type of headphone: I prefer full size
Isolation: I would prefer decent isolation, though I would consider open cans
Tonal balance: Balanced
Preffered music: A lot of BABYMETAL, heavy rock, alternative rock, pop rock, jpop, A bit of Eminem, occassionally Sungha Jung (acoustic fingerstyle guitarist) and Yiruma (pianist)
Past headphones: Sony MDRV6
I have been doing alot of research, but every time I think I've found the right pair of cans I read something and find I'm back to square one.
I almost baught Sennheiser HD-598's but I've read that they can seem quite lifeless withoud an amp.If anyone here has tried them with a HTC One X (or any mobile phone or small device), how did they perform?
I was also considering the ATH-M50x, but the extra price you pay for extra portability makes me want to get something better audio wise.
I was reccomended the Beyerdynamic DT880 which looked very appealing, but I was turned off when I learned that the 32 ohm version didn't perform aswell as its peers.

Any and all advise welcome. Thankyou for reading this.

You are more or less in a dead zone in that price range--even in the U.S. market.  Assuming you can get U.S. pricing closeout pricing on the UE 6000, it is a great buy for under $100.  Absent a sale or closeout, there's not much that's significantly better until you get to the $250 to $350 range.  That's even more true without an amp.  The KRK KNS 8400 is very good, but benefits from an amp.
