Rockbox for iBasso DX90 dual boot with Mango (Stock Firmware)

It's the same deal with 2.1.8 L and Rockbox, so I'm just going to have accept having a DX90 that won't support Rockbox.

I dont know exactly what the problem is. What i can mention again is that headwhackers firmware & rockbox build are not compatible with the newer ones. What exactly did you instal, which Firmware and which rockbox buildl?

The build from rockbox git: FW2.1.8 modded by Lurker (L1) and official rockbox dualboot and the dev build for Rockbox.

ok, i don't know what the problem is. Maybe you could try napkas build and firmware. He was able to test his firmware and build, me not :frowning2:

I tried Napka's build and FW last night with the same results. I'm wondering if formatting the DX90 drive before copying a FW image and Rockbox version to it would possibly help or ruin the player altogether. Something's off with my DX90 apparently- not one other person has had this problem.

Did you try to reset settings to factory default using Mango settings menu? Also try to remove SD card, copy some tracks to inner memory and play them?

I do a factory reset every time after I do a firmware update. Also, here's something interesting that I just discovered. I can't play anything from the Database menu, but if I go into the file menu, I can play some of the music from mt/external_sd/ music, otherwise known as the sd card. Yet if I try to play something from sdcard/music (internal storage), it won't play at all.

The DX90 I have I received in December brand new already had Ibasso firmware 2.1.5 on it. I'm wondering if it's possible if it could have a different version of Android that is incompatible with Rockbox. Just an idea.

I can vouch for the Meier crossfeed. Rockbox works fine on my IPod Classic. Crossfeed simulates a more stereo-like listening experience and the main reason I want Rockbox on my DX90.

Sorry you're having such a hard time getting RB running on your DX90. I ordered out of the 1st or 2nd batch and have had no issues getting RB running on my DX90. I'm happier with a more customizable UI, truly gapless playback, and no worries about the Sound Sig changing with every FW release.

Some of these newer sound "enhancements" seem to seriously detract from SQ to my ears, which is why I'm curious if others are using them. If they are, how are they configuring them so they enhance the experience instead of detract.

FYI: The screen fade in / fade out settings affect music playback. When turned off, pushing the power button to turn the screen on or off sometimes causes a brief pause in music playback. When turned on I haven't experienced this problem, but the fade is very slow.

EDIT: Nevermind, music just paused briefly when pressing power button to activate screen with fade in turned on. Bummer. This is annoying! Anyone else experiencing this?

Seems like it happens when the backlight has been turned off for at least 20-30 seconds. Less than that, and I haven't had a brief pause in the music.
