Hello.
I am a guy who is a casual listener, I listen to pretty much everything, but mainly Rock, Jazz and instrumental (piano).
Budget: $100-150 (Would prefer around $100-120)
Closed or open back: Closed would be prefferable, as I do not wish for people to hear my music, but as I am in an isolated room most of the time, open will be fine too, if such has better quality in this case, and follows the budget.
I have read the section below which describes the differences between open and closed back: I do
Portable or non portable: Does not need to be portable
Sound preference: I am looking for a headset for music, unfortunatly I listen to every kind of music, preferably I listen most to rock and jazz though. I really enjoy a good piano, and a good guitar solo.
Well, basically, instrumental for most part.
I am not really good with sounds, but I believe a good quality bass, would be recommended over a deep or strong bass, so as you said, something clear, not too strong.
The midrange is very important to me, as that is where the lyrical and vocalistic components enter, therefore this part is very important, and should be the highest.
And the treble should be 2nd priority, as prior mentioned, piano and such is quite important.
I tend to listen to very clear music, and not too high either, as I enjoy to sit in quite and peace at times.
Durability: quite good, I have a bad habit of throwing them around.
Isolation: Not necessairy - but prefered to have just a bit
Size: Full-sized or big will be okay, but I would not like the weigh to be too much
Ear preference: Over ear, I dislike in-ear, and on-ear
What will you be using as the source? (Iphone, computer, etc): My computer mainly, therefore USB is fine.
Do you have an amplifier for the headphones? I do not
Any other requests?
I would like it to have a microphone, that is quite an essential part.
It will mainly be used for music, as I do not play many games, vocals for voice chatting might need to have quite a clear sound though
I have had Audio Technica ATH-AD700 recommended (but it is discontinued, and hard to get in Denmark now), and the SuperLux HD 668B, but that seems awfully cheap O.o
For mic I have heard the Antlion ModMic should be recommended.
What do you guys think?
Regards, and thank you
- Chris
Ps. I am sorry for the rude introduction, but I am not good with sound...
