Give these a try, they're about as close to GR07 tips you'll find (I have many of both). Be sure to pick the right size.

Keeping in mind they may take a while to arrive.

H20Fidelity: Appreciate the "tip" but seller doesn't ship to USA....other ideas worth trying?

I was actually talking about the ones with foam inserts in them. I will see if i can find them on sale anywhere.

My XBA1 also came with similar tips but the gr07 ones are a little more stiff silicone and for me they sound better.

I know the ones you mean, not sure they can be bought separately.

Same tips I believe: http://www.ebay.com/itm/100-REPLACEMENT-WHITE-EARBUDS-EARTIPS-EAR-TIPS-BUDS-support-FOR-SONY-HEADPHONES-/291287036358?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&var=&hash=item43d20f71c6

Thanks H20Fidelity, I went for it and will await delivery. At this affordable price little to lose, so I will try both medium and large.

Appreciate your suggestions!

You could try cutting the tips off of the Complys ( just a bit) and see if that opens things up (though with the shallow insertion depth that might not work). It may be the tip material itself that leads to your conclusion re muffling.  I find silicon tips too brittle-sounding, so the Complys (besides fit) actually give me a sound sig I like.

I've never understood all this lust for foam tips, silicon can be used for practically years, yet you all torture yourselves with this expensive comply.

In saying that, there is one IEM I must use foam on, ER4S so I have contradicted myself, but avoid them like the plague everywhere else.

Keep my money for Mc Donald's meals.

Yeah!  The Complys seal better for me.  And sound good as well.  Yes, they degrade, but that's the cost of doing business.  Every time I try silicon it ups the bass and makes the trebles harsh/brittle/brilliant.  And after a week or so they stop sealing well.  Maybe because I use mine while walking, but that has been the cycle.  The Complys last for 3-4 months and are consistent until they begin to peel apart.

You said your iems never leave the house.  (Take 'em for a walk, they probably need the exercise.)  Mine are rarely used in the house.  That could be why we have different results.

Wanted to do an update on the impressions and my opinions of the A83 and in comparison to the SM64 from earsonics. I feel that the A83 brings out the detail a bit more, which I can still hear with the sm64 but it is a bit warmer and so some times now as obvious. The SM64 are light and fit my ear shape better but I have not discomfort with the A83 to grip on, and the build quality seems to be holding up very well and is solid. Microphonics are present if you rub the part of the  cable that is attached to the earphones, but you have to be trying to hear them I believe that do a much better job the some other IEMs I have listened to.

If I had to say if I preferred the A83 to the SM64, I would be hard pressed, they both do so much right and so little wrong, they both suit my preferences. The A83 being fantastic both tonally and with treble and bass keep up with the mid range. The sm64 having nice lows, great mid range, smoother treble but still having details, and having a nice sound stage. I feel with some music the Fidue just sounds the best, but It can go either way. It comes down to I am selling neither one and content not upgrading to something audibly better and more expensive for a long while.

Yes, keep them both.  More toys is better.  And when you get tired of one you can always use the other for a while.  That's why I kept my Altones.

Hey guys, new to this forum. Just wanna ask if this will be a good upgrade from DBA-02, how is the seal, isolation or fit compare to the DBA-02s??

It will sound similar to a DBA-02, if you can imagine that same TWFK dual armature resemblance but a little thicker or fleshed out then, throw in a few good extra dashes of detail and clarity. Lastly, plant a dynamic driver in the rear seat taking on the low end. It would be a straight road upgrade.

Sounds pretty good so far doesn't it?

Well, here's the disappointment, isolation is only average at best, and the fit is touchy person to person.

Question: has anyone tried JVC Spiral Dot tips on the Fidue A83? Considering giving them a try but the A83 nozzle size is 5.5 mm and the JVC models these tips come stock on are a bit smaller, around 4.5 mm (per theheadphonelist.com, seems to be the most consistent site offering iem nozzle size information.)

Thanks for any information / opinions. Happy holidays fellow Headfi'ers.
