by the looks of it, you already have the budget to buy a new one - i would! it gives you that peace of mind that your baby is new versus getting a used item, plus you also get full warranty

Do they make universal W500's? I thought they were only sold as custom.
They don't advertise as such but yes, if requested they will make an universal for you.

Has anyone compared the W500 to the new ToTL CIEMs from JH?

I think it's about 4 weeks now but not sure yet
Congrats on the purchase and sorry for your wallet.
If it's custom then 5 weeks and if it's universal then 3-4 weeks
Thanks
Nice to see so many people getting AAW IEMs these days. This brand is on the rise - for some time, they were quite obscure. Still, good to see them getting the recognition they deserve. In any case, I've been extremely pleased with my W500, thus far. All my other IEMs have taken a (huge) back seat to them.
Can't wait to see what their next flagship is capable of.

Damn they're about to release a new flagship? Maybe I should have waited and gone for that
Guess that explains the undeclared AAW in Jason's FFAB2.

I don't know when this flagship will be released, but I've heard that they are working on one. Let's hope it's also a hybrid - a true successor to the W500.
Anyway, the W500 is awesome in itself, so you wont' be missing out on anything! I'm sure you'll love them.
Yeah that's true. This silly forum has the tendency to mess with your mind, but I have no doubt they're fantastic.
I'll have them tomorrow. Shipped in 3 days from Singapore - not bad.

This forum is my wallet's worst enemy. It magically makes huge chunks of money disappear every couple of months. Like magic.
Anyway, eagerly awaiting your impressions. Oh and, some pictures, please!

@Malevolent, have you had a chance to try your copper cable with other IEMs to see if it makes a difference? I've been looking at Null's cables for a while now, but can't decide.

I've passed on my Vitesse Black to my wife to use with her NT6, so I'm afraid I don't have much to say regarding its sonic capabilities. However, my wife mentioned that it does make the NT6 sound warmer and slightly heavier in the mid-bass as opposed to her stock SPC cable.
Well if I'm completely honest the design has failed
Not AAW's fault of course but I was expecting a more high res and colourful image. This is the first time I tried a custom image, guess that's a bit of a learning process as well. I was going for this:
And it ended up like this:
It's not clear on the image maybe, but it looks a bit vague and more like a printscreen than a high res image.
When I took a look at those deeply recessed sockets I was afraid my cables wouldn't fit, but luckily that's good as well the fit in my ears.
-edit-
Just realize this is a response to a question on the other thread.

I see your point there, I was in dilemma myself. I went through number of hirez pictures and liked them all but somehow I felt it won't be same on my iem as a friend had similar issue with 1964 ciems so evidently I chose clear shell and faceplate.
