You guys are killing me!  I've heard thus far the SR-80e, SR-225i, SR-225e, PS-500, and HF-2.  Does this mean I might as well hear the SR-60 and SR-325 to completely round out the affordable Grados

I agree  joseph....the 325 is was my first real nice headphone....I got goose bumps hearing that kind of detail

  Me too!
The mid-range is really nice (intimate with the 325is''s.

Tried ALL the Grados. In terms of transparency (conveying to my ears the INTENDED recording), I'll go with SR325is if you have a relatively smaller budget. In terms of hearing a combo of neutrality but with colored (not transparent as the sound is slightly colored--not to be confused with neutrality) but BETTER and FUN sound, RS1i. Haven't heard the e-series Grados though (except SR80e). If price is no issue, of course its a no-brainer---get the PS1000.

While your at it, the RS1's are only $100.00 more than the PS-500, so you might as well try then too. :veryevil:
Have you tried the RS2i? What's your take on their differences?

Question for Grado GS1000e owners - Do you find the GS1000e to lack midbass.  I like the GS1000e midrange and treble, but I feel as though the midbass (especially lower midbass and bass) is almost completely lacking.  I don't think the unit is defective, but I am wondering whether the pair I received is typical. I have listened for probably no more than 20-30 hours, and the midbass might have filled out a little, but compared to my PS500e (and many other headphones) the lack of midbassis significant.

Never heard the GS1Ke, but I've had the GS1Ki for several days, and the bass/mid-bass was fine, actually just the right amount. From what I've read (never heard for myself) I don't think it should be compared to the PS-500's bass/mid-bass. Maybe you would be more interested in the PS1K/PS1Ke?

Joseph, I have been sick for a while, so I haven't been very active on Head-Fi, the last few days, and looking at your sig, I see that you're a PS1k owner now, good for you. So you finally sold your beloved PS500, what are your thoughts so far on the PS1000?.

Stacker45, what do you think is the MAIN advantage of the PS1000 ("e" if you've heard it) over the GS1000e?

All, what's the cause of the increased sensitivity of the SR80e? What are the advantages, and what are the disadvantages?

And does the increased sensitivity also exists in the higher "e" models vs their "i" counterparts?

Better driver design most likely. I can confirm that the PS1000e are more sensitive than the original PS1000s.

Thanks. What are the specific effects it has on the PS1000e aside from louder volume vs the PS1000i?
