Anyone interested in a comparison of them vs. grover reference ic's? One things for sure, they sound totally different hehe..

Interesting name. How much do they run for?

The old ones lacked focus and had tipped up treble tone and also made the treble splashy compared to the grovers. These new ones are closer to neutral while still remaining very smooth and with the blackness between notes I loved about the first ones.

They run for $499. I won an auction for them for $250. The grovers run for $125. Both are 1m pairs.

I'd be very interested in hearing about the differences. I tried the gold alloy version of the Aural Thrills active interconnects, and liked them a lot, but found the Grover SR's even better. Tom asked if I wanted to audition the new ones, but I declined. Was I too hasty?

You know to count me in on some info wanted about the new cables. I emailed the builder a few times when I had the older series of stuff, and ended up returning them. He took the critique to heart and said he has improved upon the design. Hopefully it was for the better and not worse.

hey tomek... I've been thinking since our cable test at the speaker mini meet that I might look into getting some 'educational research' cables to replace my zu cables... let me know if you can set up a meeting with the builder for me... I know that he is hard to get a hold of and somewhat of a recluse, but I would like to meet the man behind the myth

Phildox, he is a bit hard to get a hold of but if you can wait they're certainly worth it.

For the money, they're an INCREDIBLE deal.

Did you want the primary or secondary series?

I'm sure that I can wait

I wasnt aware that there were primary and secondary designations... which were the ones that we tested?

So, Biggie, do tell. . . . How do these two compare with one another?

is there any reason for the conductor to be gold other than the fact that it makes them very esoteric?

i thought gold was a terrible conductor.

I believe silver is the best conductor, but copper and gold are right behind it and it does not corrode or oxidize like copper and silver do. It is just so damn expensive though.

The new active force golds use both gold and silver. Gold isn't as neutral as a good silver cable but it is really smooth...

I preferred the gold alloy/battery version of active force golds over grover mk2's and I preferred grover reference ic's over the old active force golds and I prefer the new active force golds over the grover references. The grover reference is still better in a few ways, but with the active golds I find my self
listening for hours (can't stop listening, cable is magical.).

I haven't had time to post a review due to school work and all this cables don't make a difference rubbish is kind of disheartening heh.

Biggie.
