Makes sense, I know I won't want the 120ii if I get the 240...vice versa, doesn't hold true.

Another factor that you should also consider is that AK might launch another top-of-the-line model on top/replacing 240 in the next few months (by looking back to its short history on new models) and you might want to hang on for a bit while.
Will any of your current DAP able to cure your itch for the next few months?

Lol... great question. hard to say, I just bought this about 11 days ago. I love the Rwak120b, it sounds better than everything else I have, was doing some abing earlier with that and my zx1 both with intruder and Ref 1 balanced. Not a huge difference, but enough for my ears to hear. So, technically Yes, this should keep me happy for a while. I'd be sick if I dropped 2500 Anda new model was released shortly after.

I think your RWAK120 should able to serve you well for a little while. By the way, the 120 is a very good machine and it has very good review (page 37 on this thread I think).

Yes, it should. it also deserves the praise, I truly love the sound. It reminds me of a mix between my zx1 and my X3, the bass of X3, and clarity of zx1. Thank you FMTTM, you've definitely helped me put it in perspective. I see you are thinking of Rwaking (for lack of a better term) your 240. Please share your experience if you do. I use IEMS only, and don't see myself adding over the ear phones, but Currawong was saying for IEMS, it won't matter much, especially with the ones I have. All bass heavy

Currawong provided his impressions on the RWAK240 earlier and one of his comments was "they can sound a bit too thick in the mid-bass" and this is one area that might prohibit me to go for the mod.

Yes, that's what I was referring to. That'd be a chance I'll be willing to take. if I get the 240,i don't think I'd be able to resist.

Lol, that would only happen if I get the 120ii first. If I get the 240,there is no way I'd want the 120ii.

Sorry if this is a silly question... is it just me or did B&H have ak100ii for 799. Site shows 899 now, but could've sworn i saw it for 799.. was i just dreaming?

Personally, I cannot hear any difference between 120II and 240. Maybe you have very good ears to pick up the difference. However, 240 provides you with more internal storage. If you wish to get the clarity of ZX-1 and bass better than the x3, it is more cost effective to go for HM-901 with balance card. 240 and 120ii stock would not give you really deep and impactful bass. Anyway, if you have the money, go RW mod the AK240. Once you spend this much, it oughta sound good. LoL
