Hey everyone. I am far from being an audiophile so I probably can't describe my hopes and dreams very well but I'd like some advice. A few years ago I ran into some Audiobahn earbuds and bought them out of need. I can't tell you the exact model because I don't know it and I guess it was discontinued since it no longer appears in Audiobahn's webpage. I haven't been able to find them anywhere, not even the place where I originally bought them. I could post a picture but I think I'm not allowed yet. They are the smaller type, not the big ones with the 13mm driver, and they're black with some chrome-colored details.

Anyway, they started having some wire problems so I have to look for a replacement. I really like their sound, which to me seems very deep; I don't mean bass-intense though, bass isn't particularly accentuated, it is more of a general lower sound. I started trying a pair of NuForce NF-NE-600X but returned them because I didn't like them. I then thought maybe I was a basshead and got a pair of JVC HA-FX101-B-E. I decided to keep those although I don't like their sound that much, I have to fiddle around with the equalizer to get something decent out of them. Both earbuds just sound too "compressed" to me, guitars sound overdistorted as if the sound was coming from a crappy amplifier, and highs (or mids? :s can't tell for sure) seem to overshadow everything else. With the Audiobahns, guitars have a lot of punch but without bashing my ears, bass is present but not aggressive nor muddy.

I mostly listen to metal (almost all kinds) but I also enjoy electronic and classical music. I would buy the exact same pair if I could find it, but my search has been unsuccessful. I would like to know if anyone more knowledgeable has heard them and can point me in the right direction, maybe describe me what I like :p. I don't really have a budget in mind but I'd rather not spend more than 30-40 euros. The Audiobahn pair I have was bought in Mexico and it costed me like 5 euros, and even I am amazed with how much more I like their sound in comparison with other, more expensive models. I can't really say if they're good, but they're good to me.

Hey again. In case anyone reads this and has mercy on my soul, I finally managed to track down the model number of the earbuds I have: Audiobahn AEP100(J). I was only able to find it in webpages from Latinamerica, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on there. You can see a picture here: http://audioexpress.com.mx/productos/432.jpg

I don't suppose anyone outside Mexico has seen them before, but you never know. A real shame because I think they have one of the best sounds I've ever heard, and for the price, I'd buy a few of them for backup.
