Updated the archive to add "Metro Style" from @Carel.
It's nice to see this thread still active and thriving with activity nearly 1 year later.

Have updated the post
Thanks. I am sure this is my influenza slowing me down, but what is firmware 2.36b?
If anyone wants to try my first effort it's available...

Still a bit rough here & there, but I'm sick of fiddling with it for the moment.
I should warn that it's optimised for the way I use my X5 - so it's deliberately minimal-looking - and functioning. I've not looked at the DAC or Playlist menus at all since I don't use them.
If enough people like the theme I'll finesse it more & tackle the bits I haven't touched.
Yes, they are slightly different in sound, in 2.4 the algorithm of processing FLAC

I like that - simple and elegant with a proper battery icon

So, will you release it for 2.4 also?

Nice one. I think I'll wait for the retrofitting rather than go back to the stock theme as nothing on the changelog is a must have for me, except maybe no. 6
Currently enjoying Blocked and eagerly awaiting HUD and the finished Metro...

I just went back to stock and it's killing me. One thing not mentioned in the changelog is relating to sound. I know I will get shot for saying this, but to me, it has drastically improved. Better instrument separation and refined bass. I am saying this comparing identical Pink Martini tracks on my Denon AH-MM400 headphones. I will listen a bit longer till the honeymoon period is over.Nice one.
