My name is Nik and i need to find out what headphones are these

Welcome to Head-Fi, and the headphone that Mr. McGregor is wearing is the Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 with DJ Khaled - Red Golden.  You can find it for purchase, here: https://www.amazon.com/BeoPlay-H6-DJ-Khaled-Golden/dp/B00O66G1KM/ref=sr_1_24?srs=10180946011&ie=UTF8&qid=1479696354&sr=8-24.

I wrote some impressions of the DJ Khaled H6 if you are interested, here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/778877/review-questyle-audio-qp1r-with-multiple-headphone-and-iem-pairings.

Cheers!

Hello Head-Fi!

Been browsing off & on for a while, but just became a member earlier this month. I enjoy my UE7 IEMs (review by another member) on my phone right now, but am looking for a good compact DAP with a low noise floor. I wrote a post about it here, but haven't had any replies yet. The Tera-Player looks really nice, but >30x my max price right now. Lost a few eBay auctions for Sansa Clip+ this past week, so still all ears if any of you have any recommendations for you favorite compact DAP.

Depending on what your total budget is, you might consider the new Shanling M1, available for ~$150 (including Leather Case) from several vendors on AliExpress.  It doesn't have internal storage, so you'd also have to buy a microSD card (it works with the largest currently available, 256GB).
.
I purchased one to set up for my Dad to listen to his music, and liked it enough to buy one for myself during the big AliExpress 11.11 Sale.
.
While it doesn't have WiFi, it does have bi-directional Bluetooth, so I've been able to stream Spotify via Bluetooth from my Nexus 7 Tablet - using the M1 as a compact Bluetooth Earphone Amp.  I've also used the M1, transmitting to a Bluetooth Earphone Lanyard that I've got.
.
One currently popular use for the M1, is using its USB output to feed digital audio to the Chord Mojo DAC/Headphone Amp.

Take Care,
David Baldock

Hi and thanks to everyone for this great resource.

With my IT job, I'm on calls a couple hours each day and otherwise listen to music.  Calls may come from Skype, Google hangouts, or they could be from a cell phone.  Right now, a cheap Turtle Beach gaming headset is what I use to answer cell calls, then I switch to a cheap Logitech usb headset to listen to music or answer calls on the computer.  It's inconvenient and the music quality isn't great.

A couple weeks ago, I decided to see if I could get an over the ear, bluetooth headset to use it for everything.  Some Bose and Sennheiser bluetooth headsets sound and feel great, but they're rather expensive.  That might be the best option, but I started wondering if I could modify my old, wired headphones so they had bluetooth and a microphone.  That led to reading hours of articles and reviews on Amazon, and finally trying to figure out whether I need to only add a bluetooth receiver to my wired headphones, or if I also need to add a small amplifier so they have the input to drive the speakers.  Figuring that out to get my old Sennheiser HD497 or HD202 wired headphones to work with bluetooth and have a microphone should be fun and give me an excuse to get back into some electronics.

thanks,
Bryan

Hi all.

Used the site for a while, reading, wondering, gaining info and because of this place, I gave in to my bout of upgraditous...

Have been using a set  of HD518 on varying equipment, ranging from flac files on my pc via my Onkyo TX-SR876 and my phone via a Behringer uca202.

Suppose my first upgrade on the HD518, was the ear grill removal.

Today I went a little further. Ordered the HD650 (apparently it's the law in the hobby
wink.gif
) and a Vali2. Source for that little combo is a MPD stream from my laptop. I plan on connecting the UCA202 from that and using that as the DAC for the Vali2 for now, with a view of a possible, nay, probable DAC upgrade next year. That'll probably be run in my bedroom, and carry on using the Onkyo as my main room setup for now.

Cheers.
