Hey all... I have researched but cannot find exactly what I'm looking for. For my HE500, I'm looking to upgrade my RCA interconnect between my Lyr and Uber Bitfrost. I like a warm signature with good bass response and sparkly highs so I have found Amperex 7308's in the Lyr to my liking. I have tried Schiit's own PYST - (ok), Anticable Level 2 - (better), JPS Superconductor+ (about the same as Anticable). I'm willing to spend what it takes to improve the sound I have now. I think I would be better off with copper IC's instead of silver for my preference of a warm signature. Anybody have any recommendations for a good/great IC?

I once owned a Bifrost DAC and found it to be on the cold side of the spectrum. Copper cables were the answer in taming the edge. I tried various Cardas models but they were to phasey. I ended-up with Cabledyne Copper Reference which helped. Ultimately I moved on to the Woo WDS-1 DAC and am using the Cabledyne Silver Reference.

Thanks for the suggestions! It looks like the Crystal Cable only comes in silver? HI-BIT, I have considered Cardas, but what do you mean by too "phasey"? I think copper IC may be more inline with my preference of a warm sig, and will look into the Cabledyne Copper Reference...

Many folks find Cardas cables (especially the earlier renditions) to lack focus and are too heavy (dark in the mid-highs). The Cabledynes are free of these artifacts, very neutral and clear.

Mark Grant G1000HD or G2000HD (depending on rca connector you want). The sound fits the description of what you want perfectly.

I bought my G1000HD from eBay and it replaced a more expensive AQ King Cobra. It was no contest.

From the bifrost, you need two of these: http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-104776-3-Feet-Premier-Series/dp/B001UJH0XU/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1399005964&sr=8-8&keywords=xlr+to+rca
going into one of these: http://www.amazon.com/DBX-Channel-31-Band-Equalizer-1231/dp/B00D29XRWY/ref=sr_1_cc_2?s=aps&ie=UTF8&qid=1399006234&sr=1-2-catcorr&keywords=dbx+1231
which sends to the lyr via two of these: http://www.amazon.com/Monoprice-104784-3-Feet-Premier-Series/dp/B001UNIT9A/ref=pd_bxgy_e_text_y

Then you can get your sound to be pretty much any dam way you please. Think of it as a $400 interconnect that affects the audio. You want to cut the high frequencies a bit (and/or boost the lower frequencies) to get your target warm response. Don't cut too much below 14kHz, otherwise you'll loose the high end sparkle you're looking for.

Cheers

On second thought the better places to ask this question are Audiogon and Audio Circle.  I can't say I have done alot of comparisons with IC's and I can't say for sure if the Mark Grant cable will sound "warmer" than say the Anti-cable you mentioned.

edit: I tried the bifrost uber and found it tonally tipped compared to the other dac's I tried. Just not my brand. I'm a Burson guy.

Good idea… I’ll check with the Gon and Asylum as well, however they are not attuned to headphone gear as well as Head-Fi, that’s why I checked here “Cables, Power, Tweaks, Speakers, Accessories (DBT-Free Forum)”

I’m not into equalizing as ab anitio recommended.

So far ‘Cabledyne Copper Reference’ sounds like a possibility to try.

I have since pulled some cable out of my big rig and have tried Purist Audio Elementa and Analysis Plus Solo Crystal copper. The PAD has better bass but not as refined as the Solo Crystal which has more microdetail on first blush with limited listening.

It might be that the Bitfrost is on the cool side like others have said, but I am not ready to change that part of my system yet. Like I said I'm basically happy with the sig I have now, it is good, but I'm always looking to improve it.
