Currently running a Rotel RA-05 SE. Plenty of power, but the woman wants something more compact since I've taken over one end of the dining table with my listening space... And besides, I'm craving tubes for the DT880.

Based on what I've read, the Woo Audio WA3 has emerged as a front-runner for the DT880, particularly the 250 Ohm version, which is supposed to sit right in the WA3's sweet spot, which some have stated is around 100-300. Anyway, I reckon I can pick up a used one for around $450-500.

That figure is fine, although at the top-end of my budget. It would be nice to have a few other options that are equal to or better than the Woo when paired with the DT880 250 Ohm. And if some of those options happen to be less expensive, that would be frosting...

I've got a Crack and a WA2, either one of them is fantastic with the Beyers.

Seconded.  As long as it's OTL, pretty much any tube amp will sound good with them.  On the budget side of things, I really like my Mav Audio A1 with my 600ohm 880's, too.
