it is true, that is what we try to solve in x7 so people don't need an portable amp to solve this problem.

Yes James, and if I buy, say, a K10, I do it to hear details. If the recording has air and clarity, I want to hear air and clarity. If the recording has wide and deep soundstage, ooh, I certainly want to catch that, yum, delicious! Isn't that what real audiophiles want? And detail. I want to hear the peculiarities of each instrument.
That is what I'm looking for.

There are a thousand Hamlets in a thousand people's eyes. That is why there are thousands of brand in audiophile market, and I don't think there have been any brand/company/products make everyone happy.

James, so what is your company target as to X7 sound? Do you want to make it completely neutral and/or transparent? Or you plan to add some bass bost to make X7 warm (to meet Chinese consumers expectations)?

I think, from his earlier comments, the question should be "how are you making a device that can be easily changed to suit different tastes?" Perhaps they're taking a leaf from the HiFiMan book with the different "cards" used in the HM DAPs?

James, that's because they obviously lack your vision. The X5 is proof of that. Not only is it the leader anywhere near it's price range, it's a damn good player and one of the best and always improving with firmware upgrades. You are one of the very few who really respond to the people you serve.
You need not make everyone happy. Just make happy those leaders, those alpha dogs who count and the sheep will happily follow.
You've already made the X5, just refine it more, make it better with even better parts and innovation, as I know you and your excellent team can. Then you will have made many many people happy...including me, btw, lol.

To me, I'm a very aesthetics person. Before we talk about features, the aesthetics have to attract me first before I even consider reading more into the features.

1) Aesthetics (Design + Material, Design must be nice and material which was mentioned to be metal is good, feels more premium)

2) UI (UI must be user friendly and not too complicated to use, better to have a search function + soft keyboard on touch screen at least for users to search songs instead of turning and turning and turning the wheel on the X5)

3) Size (Maybe size like current X5 or slightly bigger is just fine)

4) Optical + Coaxial Out (on top of the usual 3.5mm analogue output)

5) Size of Internal Storage (At least 128gb or best to have 256gb)

6) Accessories (Premium leather case, glass type screen protector to be included)

Note that I did not mention Sound Quality as I am confident that Fiio will product yet another great DAP. I think for the X7 to stand out as the flagship and to compete with its competitors on the market, I feel the above 6 points are what I consider before buying a premium DAP and I hope to have point 6 on future DAPs as I prefer glass protectors, feels alot better. If the X7 has the above 6 points, I will buy the X7 without even the need to audition it.

For point 4, it would be really good to have optical out but i know its not easy to incorporate so many features at one go.

For point 5, I'm cool with lesser capacity as long as you have expandable memory slots. Not relli important to me to have high built in capacity.

For point 6, yes I understand, I do not mind paying more seperately  for a well designed premium leather accessory for the X7.
